New USCIS Filing Fee Schedule – Effective 7/30/2007

The USCIS released today the new USCIS filing fee schedule. The new filing fees become effective on July 30, 2007.

Here is a breakdown of some of the most affected applications/ petitions:

These are all substantial increases. The filing fees for certain applications are even higher than what the USCIS originally proposed. The most affected cases are those for employment based nonimmigrant visas (H-1Bs and L-1s especially), family and employment based green cards as well as U.S. citizenship cases. Again, the effective date for filing fees change is July 30, 2007. We, therefore, advise that you file your petitions and/or applications as soon as possible to avoid paying double or almost triple the filing fees.
